There is great news for Banswara and Pratapgarh districts of Rajasthan. The state government has approved the construction of two new state highways-SH-54A and SH-91A in these areas. This will not only improve the connectivity of these districts, but will also provide direct benefits to 5 to 7 lakh people.
The roads in the rural areas of the state will now be converted from intermediate to two-lane state highway, which will make the traffic simple and faster.
State Highway-54 A: New path from Banswara to Madhya Pradesh border
This highway will begin with Garhi, which is associated with the National Highway-927 A. From here, it will reach the Bhairu Pagh police post of Rajasthan Police located on the Madhya Pradesh border near Bagayacha village via Bagidaura, Kalinjara, and Kushalgarh. Later, it will connect to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Interchange Junction in Thandla, Madhya Pradesh.
- Length: 80.447 km
- Total number of villages: about 60 villages
State Highway-91 A: Dhariyavad to Sabla in Pratapgarh district
The second highway will be built from Dhariyavad in Pratapgarh to Parasola to Sabla. This new route will come out of SH-91 and currently intermediate roads will be converted into a two-lane state highway.
- Length: 30.900 km
- Villages covered: About 20 villages
Construction will be done at a cost of 334 crores
According to Rajasthan State Highway Authority and PWD (Banswara), the construction of these two state highways will cost a total of Rs 334 crore.
- The tender process has started, the tender bid will open in April.
- The construction work is expected to be completed in one and a half years.
- The same notice inviting tender of both parts has been released.
80 villages will get better road connectivity
With the construction of SH-54A and SH-91A, about 80 villages in Banswara and Pratapgarh districts will be directly connected to the state highway. Till now these villages were connected to single lane road, which caused trouble to the passengers.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will have direct connection
One end of SH-54A will be connected by the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Thandla (Madhya Pradesh). This will not only benefit the villagers of Rajasthan, but this route will also become a new option for those going to Ratlam of NH-927A to Ratlam.
- Now passengers will not have to go through Banswara.
- It will be easy to reach Delhi-Mumbai Expressway directly from Garhi.
5 to 7 lakh people will directly benefit
According to officials, 5 to 7 lakh people will get direct benefits from these two new state highways, who live in these 80 villages and more than 500 puffs.

Regional development will gain speed from new project
PWD Banswara Project XEN Dinesh Kumar Meena said that after the construction of both the state highways, there will be direct state highway connectivity from Pratapgarh in Banswara.
This will give new direction to regional development, investment, and traffic management. This project is considered very important for tribal and backward areas of Rajasthan.
