Jaipur: The student suicides in Kota have become a matter of concern in Rajasthan. The party in opposition Congress has demanded to call an all party meeting on this burning issue.
Urging an immediate and serious action on the issue, the leader of opposition Tikaram Julie in his social media post addressing to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said ‘my humble request to you to direct the state government to take serious steps on this important subject. If you call an all -party meeting on this sensitive issue in the interest of the youth, then it will be good. ‘
Expressing his concern over the issue, Julie said that coaching student suicides have increased over the years and most of the cases occurred in Kota itself.
‘If this serious issue is not resolved in time it may become grave as six students have committed suicide in just 22 days of January while more than 20 took the extreme step in the last year. It is distressing and shocking that now more than one suicide is taking place in a single day,’ said Julie.
Julie said that the investigation of these cases revealed that increasing pressure on students to perform well is one of major reason behind the suicides, so the flaws in the education system should be discussed to normalize the situation.
Notably, this January has turned out to be. Nightmare for Kota coaching industry as Six JEE and NEET aspirants have committed subside until now.
