Jaipur: A retired IAS officer was allegedly assaulted by a bus conductor in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. As per the police, the 75-year-old retired IAS officer, RL Meena, was attacked by the bus conductor for refusing to pay an extra Rs 10. The incident took place on Friday and soon the video went viral on social media.
The altercation broke out between the two after the bus conductor failed to inform the retired IAS officer about his stop and the bus went ahead. The Bus conductor has been identified as Ghanshyam Sharma.

According to Kanota Station House Officer (SHO) Uday Singh, Meena was to alight at the Kanota bus stand on Agra Road, but Sharma failed to inform him and started demanding Rs 10 extra after the bus reached the next stop at Nayla. In the video, it could be seen that the bus conductor pushed Meena first after which the retired IAS officer slapped him.
Sharma then started assaulting the retired bureaucrat. Sharma slapped Meena several times. Passengers onboard the bus later intervened and tried to stop the bus conductor from assaulting the 75-year-old man. The victim later deboarded the bus.
Meena lodged a complaint against the bus conductor at the Kanota police station on Saturday. The accused was reportedly suspended by the Jaipur City Transport Services Limited for misconduct, reported PTI.
A detailed investigation is currently underway.
