Estranged cousins, MNS president Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, were seen together at the wedding of Raj Thackeray’s sister, Jaywanti Thackeray-Deshpande’s son, in Dadar on Sunday. The two leaders were captured conversing as both families attended the wedding.

According to reports, the wedding ceremony of Raj Thackeray’s sister’s son took place at Dadar’s Raje Shivaji Vidyalaya in Mumbai. To bless their nephew on his wedding, both uncles, Raj and Uddhav, came together. Uddhav Thackeray attended the ceremony with his family and blessed the bride and groom. Some videos and photos from the wedding have now surfaced, showing Uddhav and Raj standing side by side, showering the couple with rice grains.

Interestingly, Raj Thackeray had recently attended the wedding of Rashmi Thackeray’s brother, Shridhar Patankar’s son. The wedding of Shridhar Patankar’s son, Shaunak, took place last Sunday at the Taj Lands Hotel in Mumbai. Raj Thackeray honored the Patankar family’s invitation and attended the ceremony. However, there was no direct meeting between the two Thackeray brothers at the event, as both leaders attended the ceremony at different times.

In the recently concluded Maharashtra Assembly elections, both leaders launched verbal attacks against each other. The parties led by the two leaders performed poorly, with the MNS failing to secure even a single seat and Shiv Sena (UBT) winning just 20 seats. Raj Thackeray’s son, Amit Thackeray, who contested from Mumbai’s Mahim seat, lost the election. However, Uddhav’s son and former minister, Aaditya Thackeray, managed to retain his Worli seat in a tough battle against Shiv Sena’s Murli Deora.

Post-elections, a section of Marathi-speaking voters in Maharashtra has expressed their desire to see the Thackeray brothers united. Party workers from both sides also echo this sentiment.
