Mumbai – Celebrity and businessman Raj Kundra has moved the Bombay High Court demanding the cancellation of the lookout circular released for his alleged role in the pornographic film scam case.
The court has ordered the registry to list the case before the appropriate bench according to the roster. In his application to cancel the LoC released from 2021, Kundra said that every time he travels out of India, he has to face unnecessary harassment and investigation, due to which he has to wait for hours in the Immigration Office.
After the arrest and after getting bail, he has traveled abroad about 20 times and every time the lower court has allowed him to go abroad and he has also followed all the conditions. The petition states that since the LoC is applicable despite the court order, verification is being done and delayed.
He is cooperating in the police investigation and never escaped. The investigation started in 2021 and it has been four years. Therefore, there is no need to keep the LoC alive as they have already got bail in the case. The petition stated that the LoC was issued before the arrest and now its implementation is a violation of fundamental rights.
The Crime Branch claimed that Kundra was the main conspirator in the scam and said that Kundra’s foreign transactions were found with a London company, which uploaded pornographic literature from a foreign IP address. Police claimed that Kundra has an app called Hotshot which makes pornographic materials. The application was later sold to Britain -based accused Pradeep Bakshi, who is a relative of Kundra. The accused implicated the struggling new models and actresses in it. Accused model Jewel Vasistha was the director of this video and another Umesh Kamat worked for Kundra.
Kundra formed a WhatsApp group, in which the revenue of the app was monitored and other accused were instructed to increase the revenue. This information was given by the Crime Branch. This app has been removed by the Google Play Store.
