Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who hails from a town in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, recently gave a shout-out to fellow Himachal Pradesh women like Preity Zinta, Yami Gautam, and Pratibha Ranta, stating that they ‘deserve’ more hype.

On Sunday, December 29, Kangana took to her Instagram story to laud them and shared a collage featuring photos of Preity, Yami, Pratibha, and herself. She wrote, ‘”#peopleofhimachal When I go to Himachal and see our women equally or better looking than us work tirelessly in the fields no insta no reels raising cattle and making the ends meet. I feel they can definitely do with some hype. #himachaligenes #himachaliwomen.”

Recently, Kangana voiced her opinion on sexual harassment acts against women amid Blake Lively’s sexual harrassment allegations against her IT Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. On her Instagram story, the actress described the case as “shameful” and drew parallels with the Bollywood industry, referencing the Hema Committee report.

“Even in Hollywood women who refuse to compromise, they are maligned and their careers are destroyed its not just Bollywood similar report called Heme Committee had come out about the Malayalam film industry, it is worrying and shameful,” she wrote.

On the work front, Kangana was last seen in Tejas, which was released in 2023. The film also starred Anshul Chauhan and Varun Mitra. The actress portrayed the role of IAF officer Tejas Gill.

She is currently awaiting the release of Emergency, which is now scheduled to release on January 17, 2025, after several delays. The film was postponed due to failing to clear the censorship requirements of the Central Board of Film Certification.

The film is directed and co-produced by Kangana, who will be playing the role of Indira Gandhi. Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Satish Kaushik.
