Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): State is expected to witness rain in 7 districts of Madhya Pradesh — Betul, Chhindwara, Dindori, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Pandhurna districts on Tuesday. Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur will get relief from cold, while Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain will experience extreme cold in the night. Moreover, the southern and eastern parts may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is active in North-West India which will bring snowfall in the mountains and northern winds will also enter to the state resulting in increasing night temperature. The effect is visible in Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions.

Along with this, Cyclonic storm ‘Fengal’ is also active brinings severe winds in the state.

Rain alert

Rain is expected in districts such as Betul, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Pandhurna as the winds speed will be 3 to 4 km per hour higher than the normal days.

Severe cold wave

The state will witness severe cold from 20 December, and will continue in January. Ujjain and Gwalior-Chambal region will shiver the most.

Bhopal coldest in state

Madhya Pradesh state capital Bhopal has broke a 36-year-old record this year. The capital has experienced extreme coldness in the month of November. However, the mercury remained 7 degrees below normal in Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Gwalior, but severe cold will occur in December.
