With the beginning of the new year 2025, Indian Railways has announced the implementation of a new time table. Under this, the stopping time of trains at major railway stations of Uttar Pradesh and other states will be increased. This will give passengers more time to board and deboard trains.
Changes due to introduction of Amrit Bharat Yojana and Vande Bharat
Last year, many new trains started operating under the Amrit Bharat Scheme, including Vande Bharat Express. Due to these changes, Railways had to update the time table.
However, the new time table was scheduled to come into effect from October 1, 2024, but it was later put on hold. Now it will be implemented from January 1, 2025.
Stoppage time increased, no impact on speed
The stopping time of most trains at major stations like Laksar, Roorkee, Haridwar, Najibabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Chandausi, Shahjahanpur, Gajraula, and Hapur has been increased from 8 minutes to 10 minutes.
According to Senior DCM of Railways Aditya Gupta, due to improvement in track and signal system, the speed of trains has increased, due to which there was no change in the running time.
