Singer Rahul Vaidya, who sparked controversy after he recently commented on Indian cricketer Virat Kohli ‘mistakenly’ liking a post about Avneet Kaur. Addressing the incident, Vaidya earlier revealed that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram, and in a indirect dig at the cricketer’s explanation for liking Kaur’s bold pictures, the singer sarcastically blamed it on an ‘algorithm glitch.’ Days later, Virat finally unblocked Rahul on Instagram. In response, the singer penned a thank-you note, expressing his gratitude.

On Saturday, Vaidya shared a screenshot showing that Kohli’s Instagram post was once again visible to him, confirming that he had been unblocked by the cricketer. He wrote, “Thanks @virat.kohli for unblocking me you are the one the best batsman cricket has ever seen and Aap India ka garv ho! Jai Hind God bless you and your family.”

Since Rahul’s dig at Virat on social media, he became a target of intense backlash from the cricketer’s fans. Reacting to the trolling, the singer had earlier taken a sharp jibe, writing, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!”

Further, he went on to express his anger over the abuse targeted at his family, saying, “And now you are abusing me that’s fine but you are abusing my wife my sister.. who have nothing to do with this! So I was right. That’s why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke (worthless) jokers.”

While Virat did not respond to the controversy, his brother Vikas Kohli stepped in to defend the cricketer and slammed Rahul for his remarks.

In a post on Threads, he wrote, “Bache itni mehnat agar apni singing pai karle to shayad apni mehnat se famous ho jaae….While the whole nation is focused on the current situation of what’s going on… this idiot is on a mission to gain followers and become famous, taking Virat’s name….WHAT A LOSER.”
