New Delhi, February 1: With the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 drawing closer, Leader of Opposition In Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a strong attack against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal during an election rally on Saturday, February 1.
‘Kejriwal Aaye Aur Khambhe Pe Chadh Gaye…’
Rahul Gandhi took a strong dig at Kejriwal and said, “When there was a battle of ideologies between Congress and BJP, Kejriwal Ji suddenly appeared in the middle and climbed a pole. The funny part is, five years later, he fell down with a thud.” Rahul was addressing an election rally in Sadar Bazaar.
‘Battle Of Ideologies’
Rahul took a sharp dig at Kejriwal’s political journey, saying, “When there was a battle of ideologies between Congress and BJP, Kejriwal Ji suddenly appeared in the middle and climbed a pole. The funny part is, five years later, he fell down with a thud.”
‘New Kind Of Politics & Liquor Scam’
Further criticising Kejriwal’s claims of bringing a new kind of politics, Rahul said, “Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that he would climb the pole and bring a new kind of politics. He said he would change Delhi’s politics, end corruption, clean the Yamuna, and remove pollution. But what happened? The biggest corruption scandal, the liquor scam, was carried out by Sisodia and Kejriwal. They stole crores of rupees from the people. Their promise was new politics, but they came and engaged in corruption, stealing crores of your money.”
Rahul also mocked Kejriwal’s earlier promises, recalling that five years ago, Kejriwal had said he would bathe in the Yamuna River and drink its water. Rahul quipped, “I tell him, forget the Yamuna water, try drinking Delhi’s water. You’ll get sick.”
Targets His Wagon R Car
Additionally, Rahul criticized Kejriwal’s shift from humble beginnings to a lavish lifestyle, saying, “He used to travel in a small Wagon R car but then went straight to a luxurious mansion.” Rahul also pointed out the absence of Dalits and backward castes in Kejriwal’s team, saying, “He formed ‘Team Kejriwal’, but there are no Dalits or backward people in that team.”
Calls Kejriwal Anti-Dalit
In a strong accusation, Rahul Gandhi labeled Arvind Kejriwal as anti-Dalit, stating, “He brought a 25 lakh scholarship for Dalit children, but spent 25 crore on its publicity. That’s Kejriwal Ji.”
Rahul’s remarks come at a time when the Delhi Assembly Elections are rapidly approaching, with both Congress and AAP positioning themselves for a high-stakes contest.
