Rahul requested to implement Rohit Vemula Act: Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Karnataka appealing to implement the Rohit Vemula Act in the state. He has written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urging the government to enact a law called Rohit Vemula Act. The purpose of this law is to eliminate gender -based discrimination in the education system. Rahul Gandhi in his letter has also mentioned thanking Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar.
Ambedkar was also discriminated against.
Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that Babasaheb Ambedkar also had to face caste discrimination during his lifetime. Once he had to sleep without food because people refused to give them water as untouchables. Ambedkar himself says that he had enough food. I was hungry. Still, he was forced to sleep hungry. At school, she was not allowed to sit with her classmates based on her grade. They were seated in the corner.
Murder of ambitious students like Rohit is unacceptable
According to Rahul Gandhi, what Ambedkar had to endure was shameful. This should not happen to any child in India. Today it is a shame for us that in the education system of the country, lakhs of students of Dalits, Adivasi and OBC communities have to face caste -based discrimination. In this letter written on 16 April, Rahul has written that the killing of ambitious youth like Rohit Vemula, Payal Tadvi and Darshan Solanki is unacceptable. Now the time has come to take strict action against the culprits of this crime.
Caste discrimination is still present in the education system
Rahul Gandhi wrote, “I appeal to implement the Rohit Vemula Act in Karnataka.” So that no child is repeated by millions of people including Dr. Ambedkar and Rohit Vemula. Recently, I met students and teachers from Dalit, Adivasi and OBC communities in Parliament. During the conversation, it was found that caste -based discrimination is taking place in colleges and universities.
Vemula died in 2016.
In Bakol, Rahul Gandhi said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar had said that education is the only means. With the help of which the deprived people can also become strong. The caste system can be broken. However, unfortunately, even after decades, our education system still includes gender discrimination. Rohit Vemula, who studied in Hyderabad, committed suicide due to caste discrimination.
