The aged lawyer also mentioned that if his health permits he will go to Chittagong on January 2 to defend the arrested monk.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh went to meet Rabindra Ghosh at his son’s residence in Barrackpore in North 24 parganas.

Talking to the media, the TMC general secretary said, “The state government cannot do anything about the crisis of the neighbouring country. The central government must act. Our Chief Minister had time and again said that the West Bengal government will abide by the decision taken by the central government. Those who speak of Hindus, why are they silent now?”

Political analyst Biswanath Chakraborty said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should hit the streets over the crisis.
