The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) grants annual central contracts to senior men’s cricketers, dividing them into four categories based on their performances, consistency, and overall impact on the team. These contracts not only provide financial security but also serve as a reward for excellence on the field.

Along with a fixed annual retainer, players receive bonuses and endorsement opportunities. Additionally, when not representing the national team, contracted players are expected to actively take part in domestic cricket.

What are the contract categories and salaries?

Grade A+ – Rs 7 crore

Grade A – Rs 5 crore

Grade B – Rs 3 crore

Grade C – Rs 1 crore

Criteria for players to qualify for a contract?

A player must play at least 3 Tests, 8 ODIs, or 10 T20Is in a year.
