Washington: US President Donald Trump and Russian President Putin held talks for more than two hours and discussed the end of the war. Putin has shown his desire to move forward on the path of ending the war. At the end of the discussion, the two leaders agreed that an attempt would be made to find a solution that would be acceptable to all the parties.

After a telephone conversation with Trump, Putin said that efforts to end the war in Ukraine have progressed and Russia supports direct conversation with Kiev. Talking to reporters, Putin said that we have agreed with the US President that Russia themselves will take the initiative and are ready to work with him on the possible peace treaty in the future.

He stated that the memorandum prepared for this purpose would be focused on some major areas, which would include the principle of agreement and the possible deadline to reach the agreement. Putin also thanked Trump for resuming the talks between Moscow and Kiev.

He said that Trump supported Russia’s efforts for peaceful solutions, but also discussed the challenges to move forward on this path. If proper agreements are agreed then the ceasefire will be done. Direct conversation proves that we were on the right path. Putin said that Russia’s status on this issue is clear that the current causes of this crisis should be abolished. We have to find the most effective avenues to move forward towards peace.

It is noteworthy that some time ago, talks were to be held in Türkiye between Putin and Jailonski, but Putin did not come. The talks between the delegations of the two countries lasted for less than two hours.
