President Putin has rarely traveled outside his country since the war with Ukraine began. Now there are reports that Putin may come to India for the G-20 summit.
This time the host of the G-20 summit is India and the Russian diplomat has said that Russia considers it very important that the G-20 should be held in India. This comes after the diplomat’s statement that Putin is likely to visit India to attend the G-20 summit.
If this happens, it will be the first time since the start of the war that a Western leader and Putin will be face to face. Last year, when this summit was held in Indonesia, Putin did not participate. India’s Foreign Ministry has already said that if Putin comes to India, he will be welcomed.
Putin is thinking of visiting India because the closeness between India and America is increasing and because of this Russia wants to keep its relations with India strong.
After returning from the trip to America last month, PM Modi spoke to Putin on the phone and during this the two leaders also discussed the failed rebellion in Russia.
