Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with at the Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad during the screening of his latest film Pushpa 2: The Rule. A massive crowd had gathered to see Allu Arjun, which led to a stampede, tragically resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and leaving her son critically injured.
The latest update is that the actor has now been granted regular bail. According to India Today, Hyderabad’s Nampally court granted bail to the actor on two sureties bonds worth Rs 50,000 each.
He has been ordered to attend Chikkadpaly police station every Sunday between 10 am and 1 pm for a period of two months or until the filing of the charge-sheet in the Sandhya theatre stampede case, whichever comes first.
Allu Arjun was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court after he spent a night in Chanchalguda Jail on Saturday. He was later reunited with his family at his Jubilee Hills residence.
After his return, he held a press conference outside his residence, where the actor clarified that he had no ‘direct’ connection to the stampede case. He said, “We are extremely sorry for the family. I will personally be there to help them in whatever way possible. I was inside the theatre watching a movie with my family and the accident happened outside. It has no direct connection with me. It was purely accidental and unintentional.”
Following the tragic incident, a case was registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station.
