Every year a large number of youth from Punjab go abroad. They go to countries like the US, Canada and Australia to fulfill their dreams with the hope of a bright future, but sometimes they would not have imagined them.
One such incident has happened with a young man from Mansa, where a Punjabi youth was shot dead by unknown people. The deceased has been identified as Lavdeep Singh (27). He went to Canada for employment about seven and a half years ago. Lovedeep used to work as a truck driver there. The incident took place on 29 April, but the family came to know about it on 2 May.
Family members said that Lavdeep had no enmity with anyone, but why he was murdered is still a matter of investigation. Lovedeep was a resident of Mandhali village. Lavdeep’s father told that on May 29, he was going to Toronto from Surrey, when his truck broke down on the way. He stopped at the house of some of his friends and a girl invited him to come to his house by messaging him on Instagram. Meanwhile, he was murdered by unknown assailants. The family has demanded strict action from the Government of India and the Punjab government.
