Pune Sees Return Of Cold Weather With Single-Digit Temperatures On Saturday And Mild Conditions On Sunday |

After 15 days of warmth, Pune saw a sharp decrease in temperature over the weekend, with some locations reporting single-digit temperatures on Saturday.

The minimum temperature in Shivajinagar on Saturday was 9.6°C, while the temperatures in Talegaon, Baramati, Shirur, NDA, and Haveli were 9.8°C, 9.2°C, 9.2°C, 8.7°C, and 8°C, respectively. This cold spell was attributed to northerly winds from the Western Himalayas, as shared by KS Hosalikar, former head of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, on X (formerly Twitter).

Sunday temperatures

By Sunday, the temperature returned to double digits across most parts of the city. Lavale recorded a highest temperature in district at 17.4°C, while Shivajinagar recorded 11.2°C. Magarpatta and Lonavala saw 17.2°C and 12.9°C, respectively. Mild temperatures were also recorded in other places, such as Indapur (12.7°C) and Chinchwad (17.0°C). While Girivan and Pashan were reasonably warm with 15.8°C and 11.8°C, respectively, Ambegaon was one of the colder locations with a temperature of 12.4°C. Similar temperatures were observed in Talegaon (11.8°C), Bhor (15.6°C), and Ballalwadi (15.7°C). Conditions were mild in other areas, such as Daund (11.3°C), Koregaon Park (15.6°C), and Malin (11.4°C).

Nimgiri reached 14.5°C, while Purandar had a low of 10.1°C. Rajgurunagar recorded 13.7°C, Baramati recorded 10.5°C, and Shrirur recorded 10.9°C. The region’s general tendency of pleasant, cold weather is reflected in the weekend temperatures.
