Pune Public Policy Festival 2024 to Focus on India’s $10 Trillion Vision; Check Dates Here |
The second edition of the Pune Public Policy Festival (PPPF) will be held at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics on January 10 and 11, 2024. Building on the success of its inaugural event in 2023, the PPPF will gather policymakers, business leaders, academics, and students to engage in meaningful discussions around India’s economic growth and the path to becoming a $10 trillion economy.
The first PPPF, which took place on January 19-20, 2023, saw participation from notable figures including Shamika Ravi, member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who delivered the keynote address. The event attracted experts such as Ajit Ranade, then Vice-Chancellor of Gokhale Institute, and civic leaders like Shekhar Singh, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner, and Ashwini Bhide, Additional Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The central theme for the 2024 festival will be “A Vision for Prosperity and Growth”, focusing on the steps required to propel India into the $10 trillion economy club. Discussions will cover key aspects such as finance, infrastructure, and policy efforts at both the federal and state levels. Speakers will explore how collaborative policy-making can drive India’s economic transformation.
One of the key themes of the festival will be “Empowering India’s Greatest Asset, its People”. India’s youth are seen as a major driver of the country’s future, but questions remain as to whether the country is adequately preparing them to harness this potential. Panels will discuss how public policy can unlock opportunities for youth through education, health, and innovation.
Another important topic will be “Reimagining India’s Global Identity”. As India seeks to strengthen its global presence, the festival will explore the role of soft power, digital infrastructure, and innovation in projecting India as a leading global player.
The PPPF offers something for everyone, particularly those interested in real-world policy issues. The event will emphasize evidence-based, practice-oriented decision-making, focusing on local and state-level policy needs beyond the central government. It aims to decentralize policy discussions, highlighting the challenges and initiatives in regional governance.
Networking opportunities abound, with policymakers, researchers, and private sector leaders converging to collaborate on India’s growth. Whether you are a public policy professional, an academic, or part of the private sector, the PPPF offers valuable insights into the evolving policy landscape and how businesses can contribute to India’s economic journey.
The festival is open to a wide range of participants, including public policy professionals, academicians, students, and private sector leaders. It will provide them with the chance to engage in high-level discussions, gain insights into policy implementation, and collaborate on shaping India’s future. The PPPF is a unique opportunity to be part of the movement towards a $10 trillion India.
