Pune Metro Records ₹7.01 Crore Revenue In March; Ridership Crosses 44.81 Lakh | File
Pune Metro generated ₹7.01 crore in revenue in the month of March, while the ridership was 44.81 lakh, according to the data on its website.
The Ramwadi to Vanaz line contributed more — ₹3.85 crore with a ridership of 25.35 lakh — compared to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate line, which raked in ₹3.16 crore with a ridership of 19.46 lakh, the data showed.
The numbers in March are lower compared to January and higher compared to February. In January, Pune Metro generated ₹7.87 crore in revenue, while the ridership was 49.64 lakh. Meanwhile, in February, ₹6.73 crore was collected, while the ridership was 43.07 lakh.
Cumulatively, Pune Metro has earned ₹21.6 crore in revenue in the first three months of 2025, while the ridership has crossed 1.37 crore.
Meanwhile, the operation of Metro Line 3 (Shivajinagar to Hinjawadi) is likely to commence only by the end of this year, as the concessionaire has sought an extension till September to execute the project. With two coaches already in place, trial runs are expected to begin in October or November, following the completion of construction in September.
“Currently, 83-85% of work has been completed, while the integrated flyover at University Chowk is expected to be completed by April,” a senior official from Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) said.
