Pune Fire Brigade Rescues Mentally Ill Person Trapped on Fourth Floor of Kondhwa Building |
Pune Fire Brigade personnel on Tuesday saved a person trapped on the fourth floor of a building at Kumar Pragati Society in Kondhwa Khurd. The fire brigade received a report and dispatched a fire engine from the Kondhwa Khurd Fire Station.
Upon arrival, the personnel found the person stuck on the exterior of Wing D of the building. They quickly set up a ladder, climbed to a height of about thirty-five feet, and, with the help of a safety belt and rope, safely brought the individual down within 20 minutes. Preliminary information from locals revealed that the person, aged 31, was not a resident and was mentally ill. Further investigation is underway by the police.
Fire Officer in Charge Kailash Shinde, driver Satyam Chaukhade, and firefighters Sagar Dalvi, Nilesh Wankhade, Kunal Khade, Tandel Mahadev Mangde, and Manoj Bharti were involved in the rescue.
