Here’s what Ajit Pawar said
Minister Ajit Pawar stated that the budget has been allocated to enhance various sectors such as tourism, the education sector, and primary health care centers, etc. Moreover, Pawar, who on Thursday presided over a District Planning Committee meeting in Pune, instructed civic as well as district health officials to take stringent action against hospitals that overcharge GBS patients. Pawar, who is also the Pune district guardian minister, instructed the officials to ensure an adequate supply of drugs for GBS, a rare condition that causes sudden numbness and muscle weakness, with symptoms including severe weakness in the limbs. The GBS outbreak in Pune and surrounding areas is likely linked to contaminated water sources. Campylobacter jejuni, a bacterium found in contaminated food and water, is believed to be the cause of the outbreak. There are many historical places, religiously important places, forts, and monuments in Pune city and district, and conservation work is underway there. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar directed that efforts should be made in the coming days to prepare an integrated tourism development plan for the district to bring all these places onto the tourism map. He further said that funds will be provided for this plan from the District Planning Committee, and the officials should also try to get maximum funds from the corporate social responsibility fund. He also stated that efforts will be made to bring maximum funds from the state tourism department.
