In the posted video, police can be seen seizing the modified silencers and destroying them by running them over with a road roller.
The police have also appealed to citizens to inform them if they come across such motorcycles via X, Instagram or WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, the Pune City Traffic Police have also launched a drive to remove abandoned vehicles occupying roads across the city.
Officers are pasting notices on these vehicles, asking owners to remove them within three days. If not removed, the vehicles will be considered unclaimed property and seized by the police.
Reportedly, there are over 4,000 abandoned vehicles in the city.
Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil said, “In the last one week, we have seized 139 vehicles, including private cars and two-wheelers. Sufficient time was provided to vehicle owners to claim their vehicles, but they did not call or respond to the notices pasted on them.”
