The Pune Branch of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has received two regional-level awards for outstanding performance in 2024. The branch was recognized as the Best Branch and the Best WICASA Branch (Student). These awards were achieved under the guidance of ICAI Central Committee member CA Chandrashekhar Chitale and the leadership of Pune Branch Chairperson CA Amruta Kulkarni and WICASA Chairman CA Pranav Apte.

At a recent ceremony in Mumbai, the awards were presented by WIRC Chairman CA Ankit Rathi. Also present were WIRC Vice Chairman CA Rahul Parikh, CA Pinky Kedia, CA Gautam Lath, Vikasa Chairman CA Piyush Chandak, and Pune Branch Executive Committee members CA Rajesh Agarwal, CA Pritesh Munot, CA Hrishikesh Badwe, and CA Ajinkya Randive.

CA Amruta Kulkarni stated, “During the institution’s Amrit Mahotsav year, we focused on sustainable development by launching various initiatives. These included eliminating plastic usage, organizing new programs, discussions, workshops, and national conferences on economic topics, as well as courses on Artificial Intelligence, Forensic Accounting, and GST guidance. Additionally, the Pune branch became the only branch in the country to celebrate ‘Accounting Standards Day’. The success of these activities was made possible by the dedicated efforts of office bearers, executive committee members, ICAI officials, Pune branch members, faculty, students, and staff. These awards have reinforced ICAI Pune Branch’s commitment to excellence and innovation. The institution credits this success to the collective efforts of office bearers, students, and members.”

CA Pranav Apte remarked, “Keeping in mind the future challenges and opportunities for CAs, we planned various programs throughout the year. These included industry visits, guidance sessions on articleship, motivational lectures, blood donation drives, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, sports competitions, and other social initiatives.”
