The Tamil Nadu government has made an important announcement on Monday, September 9, 2024. The state government has declared a public holiday on September 17 instead of September 16 on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi has been declared. Holiday on 17 September

The government order issued by Chief Secretary N. Earlier, a government order issued on November 9, 2023 had declared September 16 as a public holiday on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi. However, this decision was recently revised based on a message sent by the Chief Qazi to the Tamil Nadu government. The message said that the moon was not sighted on September 4, due to which Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on September 17.
