Protesting farmers have announced their decision to resume the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march on Sunday afternoon, reigniting their demand for a legal guarantee of the minimum support price (MSP) for crops. In response, security has been intensified at the Sambhu border to prevent their movement toward the national capital.

Police have set up barricades and embedded nails along the roads to deter the farmers. This follows a confrontation on Friday when Haryana police used tear gas shells to disperse protestors, causing injuries to farmers and leading to a temporary suspension of the march.

Speaking on the issue, Sarwan Singh Pandher, a prominent leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), stated, “Our protest has entered its 300th day, yet the central government remains unyielding. We will not back down.”

Pandher criticised the BJP-led central government for not fulfilling its promises to the farming community. He also called for opposing visits by BJP leaders to Punjab, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, reportedly planning a trip to Amritsar. “We urge Punjab farmers to stand united and oppose their entry,” he added.

Despite obstacles, a group of 101 farmers, referred to as a ‘Jattha,’ is set to march toward Delhi at 12 noon today.

Meanwhile, to curb mobilization, the Haryana government has suspended mobile internet and bulk SMS services in 11 villages of Ambala district until December 9.
