Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The protest against Dr Bharat Singh, dean of Government Agricultural College, entered its 12th day on Monday. Students are demanding his removal, accusing him of misconduct and inappropriate behaviour towards professors, staff and students.
Several female professors accused Dr Singh of mental harassment
An internal committee is investigating the allegations. The protest has gained momentum as several female professors and senior faculty members have also accused Dr Singh of mental harassment.
They have submitted complaints to the administration, alleging that his behaviour is disrespectful and negatively impacting the academic environment.
The students are holding their demonstrations at the college’s main gate, chanting slogans against the dean and calling for action. They took out candle marches, submitted memorandums to the district collector, staged sit-ins at the college entrance and even surrounded the police station. However, despite repeated complaints and ongoing agitation, no concrete action has been taken by the administration.
