The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken a major step towards paperless and hassle-free governance by integrating DigiLocker, the Registration and Stamps Department (IGR) and the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal. These integrations will make property transfers automatic, marriage certificates instantly accessible online and key municipal services available digitally, eliminating paperwork and reducing delays.
With these digital upgrades, property buyers no longer need to apply separately for name transfers, marriage certificates can be accessed seamlessly through DigiLocker and citizens can avail of municipal services like trade licenses, sewage connections and fire NOCs from the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal. These initiatives will ensure faster service delivery, improved transparency and better convenience for residents.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “Our goal is to simplify processes and make municipal services more accessible. By automating property transfers, making marriage certificates paperless and offering services online, we are ensuring that citizens experience faster and more efficient governance.”
PCMC has successfully integrated the marriage registration system with DigiLocker, allowing residents to access their marriage certificates online without the need for physical copies. Certificates issued since 2014 are now digitally available, ensuring a hassle-free and paperless experience for couples. This integration eliminates the risk of losing important documents and allows citizens to store, retrieve and share their certificates securely through DigiLocker.
The integration between PCMC and the Registration and Stamps Department (IGR), Maharashtra State, enables real-time updates on property transactions within Pimpri-Chinchwad. Property buyers no longer need to apply manually for name transfers. Name transfers are now completed within a day, reducing administrative delays. Any change in property usage (residential to commercial, etc.) is automatically updated in PCMC’s records. Property transactions across all Pimpri-Chinchwad localities are now seamlessly recorded in municipal records.
PCMC has also integrated key municipal services with the Maharashtra Government’s ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal, allowing citizens to access essential services without visiting municipal offices. In the first phase, the trade license, sewage connection and fire no-objection certificate services will be available.
