Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said a probe into the much-discussed e-tender scam restarted after a court order.
Replying to a question raised by legislator Heerala Alawa, Yadav made the statement in the House on Friday.
The legislators wanted information about the e-tender scam. Yadav said an inquiry into the e-tender was underway, so giving any documents in that connection would be against the law.
EOW registered a case on April 10, 2019 in connection with e-tender case under the IT Act, Anti-corruption Act and various other laws.
Similarly, cases were registered against many people, he said. According to sources, the court acquitted all accused of the e-tender scam. When the court acquitted them, it said the EOW had failed to prove the charges against those people.
Afterwards, the EOW filed a petition for closing the case. But special judge Ram Pratap Mishra cancelled the application for closing the case on December last year and directed the agency to probe the case again. EOW made 15 people accused in the e-tender scam.
Several big companies, working for the Water Resources Department, were among them.
