Young batsman Prithvi Shaw has faced difficulties in recent months. He has been constantly in the headlines for the wrong reasons, while his performance with the bat has been extremely disappointing. The Mumbai cricket team dropped him from the Vijay Hazare Trophy due to indiscipline, and he was also left out of the first phase of the Ranji Trophy. Although Shaw made a comeback in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he will have to work hard to return to the Mumbai team. The paths of his return to the Indian team are almost closed.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw has started preparing for the upcoming domestic matches. He shared a story on social media, in which he is seen wearing the training jersey of the Indian team. Also, he responded to the critics by writing, “You can keep me out of the game, but you can’t stop me from working.”

Prithvi Shaw remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He was a part of the Delhi team from 2018 to 2024, who retained him ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. Shaw played 10 matches in 2022, while in IPL 2023 he scored 106 runs in only eight matches. His condition improved in IPL 2024, but he could only score 198 runs.

A senior Mumbai Cricket Association official told PTI that due to Shaw’s poor fitness, attitude and discipline problems, the team had to hide him from the field several times. The official said, “In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, we had to play with ten fielders because it had to be hidden. The ball would pass him by and he would not be able to catch it.”

He further said, “Even while batting, he was having difficulty reaching the ball. His fitness, discipline and attitude are poor, and the rules should be the same for all players. “Senior players also started complaining about his attitude.”
