Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day Global Investors Summit (GIS) at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangralaya at 10 AM on Monday.
The Prime Minister will stay at the venue until 11:15 AM and will unveil over 18 new industry-related policies by the state government, including those for MSMEs, startups, semiconductors, drones, film, tourism, logistics, and solar energy. With more than 25,000 industrialists and investors registered for the summit, the event is set to be a major networking platform.
Among the registrants are over 50 foreign delegates from more than 100 countries, including high commissioners and ambassadors. The government aims to attract investments in key sectors such as agriculture, food processing, textiles, mining, IT, renewable energy, and urban development.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his cabinet colleagues will also be present during the inaugural session. This is the first time the GIS is being held in Bhopal, with previous editions hosted in Indore. Industry titans to attend The GISwill be attended by several prominent industrialists.
Among the big names attending are Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gautam Adani, Nadir Godrej, Baba N. Kalyani, Rahul Awasthi, and Neeraj Akhori.
However, Mukesh Ambani will not be attending the summit as he is currently abroad. These industry leaders will engage in discussions and explore investment opportunities in various sectors, further boosting the economic potential of Madhya Pradesh.
Global delegates The GIS will also welcome numerous prominent foreign delegates from around the world.
Among the key attendees are Achim Fabig, Consul General of Germany; Yagi Koji, Consul General of Japan; Elaine D. Soza, Trade Commissioner from Canada; Martin Maier, Consul General of Switzerland; John Nickell, Head of Political and Bilateral Affairs from the United Kingdom; and Daniel Delgado, Head of Economic and Trade from Mexico.
Moreover, Sebastian Domzalski, Head of Political and Economic Affairs from Poland, Ahmad Zaidu Mohad Illias, First Secretary (Economic Affairs) from Malaysia, and DonnawitPoolsawat, Consul General from Thailand, will also be in attendance.
Representing international organisations, Auguste Tano Koume, Country Director from the World Bank, and Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal, will join the summit, alongside Mohamed Maliki, Ambassador of Morocco, Priyanga Wickramasinghe, Acting Ambassador of Sri Lanka, and Ganbold Dambajav, Ambassador of Mongolia.
PM defers GIS prog by 15 minutes
Keeping in view school examinations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put off his Global Investors Summit programme by 15 minutes. Earlier, PM was supposed to leave for GIS venue at 9.45 am on Monday but now he will leave at 10 am. PM took the decision so that students do not face problems in reaching the examination centres.
