Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the beneficiaries of the scheme at his residence on the occasion of completion of 10 years of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY). Giving information on social media, he said that on this special occasion, he has invited beneficiaries from all over India. This dialogue took place at 9 am.
The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana is a major initiative of the Modi government, which aims to provide financial assistance to small businesses and micro enterprises. In the last 10 years, 50 crore loan accounts have been approved under this scheme.

The Prime Minister said that the Mudra Yojana has brought positive changes in the lives of millions. He congratulated all the beneficiaries and said that this scheme has been successful in empowering those who were earlier ignored. He said that this plan shows that nothing is impossible for the citizens of India.
The Prime Minister said that honor, self -respect and new opportunities are associated with every currency loan. It is a matter of pride that half of the beneficiaries are from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, and more than 70 percent of the beneficiaries are women. He said that the Mudra Yojana has ensured not only financial inclusion, but also social inclusion and economic freedom. Also, the government is continuously working on developing a strong support system for every ambitious entrepreneur.
10 years of Mudra Yojana – one achievement
Magaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, said that the scheme was specially launched for those who want to take loans without any guarantee. In the last ten years, a total of 50 crore loan accounts have been approved under this scheme and a loan of about Rs 33 lakh crore has been distributed. Of these, 68 percent of the beneficiaries are women and more than half of the beneficiaries are from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
Easy application process from online portal
Beneficiaries can now apply for loan through online portal under this scheme. According to the Finance Ministry, the Mudra Yojana has given a new confidence to small entrepreneurs and has promoted entrepreneurship at the ground level by simplifying the process.
