Moscow, New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been avoiding traveling abroad for the last few months, is going to visit India in the coming months. Its preparation is going on. However, the dates for this are yet to be announced.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed this news. He said that President Putin’s visit to India is fixed, its dates are being discussed.

There is a strong discussion going on at the international level regarding this visit of President Putin. The question is that due to the Ukraine war, the International Criminal Court (ICCA) has issued a warrant for Putin’s arrest on war crimes. So when Putin comes to India he will be arrested? So the answer is no’. Because India has neither signed nor ratified this treaty.

It is well known that India and Russia have decades-old relations. In such a situation, this visit of Putin will strengthen the relations between the two countries. Not only this, it will also have a deep impact on international politics.

At present Russia has been kept in an almost untouchable position in the international arena. There will be some relief from that. It is well known that India is highly dependent on Russia for defense equipment. It also buys crude oil from Russia.

There is also a possibility that Putin, impressed by his grand welcome, may accept Narendra Modi’s proposal to end the war in Ukraine. At least reducing its intensity would be a major victory for India in the diplomatic field.

A Russian delegation is also likely to accompany President Putin. Which is also natural. Then it is possible to have agreements between the two countries in the fields of trade, energy and technology. Most emphasis is likely to be on the defense sector. There is also a possibility that Russia will agree to manufacture defense equipment in India. There is maximum possibility of cooperation between the two countries in the field of space.

Observers say there is no reason for the US to object because newly elected President Donald Trump is Putin’s friend. It is also possible that Narendra Modi can convince them to stop the war by making a compromise on Ukraine war. Let’s hope this becomes possible.
