Pregnant Woman Denied Treatment, Delivers Baby On Cart In Ratlam; Newborn Dies (VIDEO) | X/journorai

Ratlam: A tragic incident has come to light from Sailana town in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. Where a pregnant woman was turned away from the health centre twice and was told that there is still time for the delivery by the nurse. After which the pregnant woman’s husband returned home with her.

However, when when the labor pain arose again after reaching home, the husband again took her to the hospital on a cart. However, the delivery took place before reaching the hospital. Due to which the newborn died. The incident took place on 23rd and 24th March.

A video of the CCTV footage, which shows the man taking the pregnant woman on the cart has been making rounds on the internet.

According to reports, on 23 March at 9 am, Krishna Gwala, took his wife Neetu to the community health center, where the nurse sent him back saying that the delivery would take place after two-three days.

At 1 am, she again felt labour pain and was taken to the hospital. But this time nurse refused to admit Neetu after examination and said that the delivery would take place after 15 hours. After which the couple returned home.

However, after some time when Neetu again felt labour pain, her husband took her to the hospital for the third time on a cart becaus her situation worsened . Where she gave birth on the way at 3 am. Due to which the newborn died.

Action So Far

A thorough investigation is being conducted into the incident. Negligence in duty was found in the investigation at the district level. A show cause notice has been issued to Sailana Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. PC Koli. Also, a letter has been sent to the State Health Services Commissioner for action against the doctor Shailesh Dange who was on duty. Besides, nursing officer Chetna Charel has been suspended with immediate effect, while the nurse who sent back the couple has been terminated.
