Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Tuesday (January 7) was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medanta Hospital in Patna, reported Press Trust of India (PTI). Kishor visited the hospital on Tuesday morning for a comprehensive check-up after having been found suffering from dehydration. He was brought to the hospital in an ambulance. A doctor visited Prashant Kishor at his home before that and advised him to visit hospital.
“There are certain medical issues that need to be thoroughly examined. He is suffering from infection and dehydration. He is also weak and feeling discomfort,” the doctor said as quoted by PTI.
Prashant Kishor has been in news after putting his weight behind civil services aspirant who were demanding cancellation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam held last month due to allegations of paper leak. Kishor began hunger strike on January 2.
Police picked him up on Monday after an FIR was filed against him for his fast at Gandhi Maidan. Patna High Court had forbidden such demonstration at the location. Kishor was later released on bail.
Kishor’s hunger strike led to political reactions from within the state. Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Prashant Kishor was acting as a B-team of BJP
“A story has been written, there is a director, producer, financier, actor and vanity van also. Who is doing this and why are they doing this, we know everything….nobody has anything to do with students, a film is being shown and a narrative is being set, we are fully aware of this…it’s a film so watch it…it is the B-team of BJP (who is behind this),” said Tejashwi, as quoted by news agency ANI.
