Raipur, 29 November (HS). On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department. has sent a letter to the Revenue Department to resolve the cases of caste certificate and income certificate pending in the revenue offices of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 on priority.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) is being implemented by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs from September 1, 2024 under the ‘Housing for All’ mission in urban areas. By implementing the scheme in all the urban bodies in Chhattisgarh, the beneficiary survey work (Rapid Assessment Survey) has been started from November 15 on the unified web portal of the Government of India. During the survey, the information of the beneficiaries is being entered on the portal of the Government of India. For this, entry of Aadhaar card, bank account, income certificate, caste certificate, land documents etc. of the beneficiary family has been made mandatory by the Government of India.
After Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao came to know through some beneficiaries that the information of the beneficiaries was not being registered on the portal due to lack of desired documents, mainly revenue related documents, Mr. Sao, in view of the inconvenience of the beneficiaries, further revised the scheme. Taking sympathetic action to extend the benefits to as many families as possible, immediate instructions have been issued to all the urban bodies. Due to lack of mandatory documents in the applications being received for the beneficiary survey work (Rapid Assessment Survey) under the scheme in all the urban bodies, he asked that instead of immediately canceling the applications, the concerned beneficiaries should be given a reasonable period of time to complete the documents. So that the benefits of the scheme can be provided to maximum beneficiaries. Shri Sao has also instructed the urban bodies to establish personal coordination with the concerned revenue office for mandatory documents like caste certificate and income certificate of the beneficiaries, so that necessary support can be provided to the potential beneficiaries in obtaining the documents.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao has instructed the departmental officers and employees to extend the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 to as many needy people as possible. He said that the state government is committed to providing housing to every eligible beneficiary family. The state government will ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every person standing at the last mile. He has asked all the urban bodies to coordinate with the Revenue Department and make every possible effort to provide the necessary documents to the eligible beneficiary families to be included in the scheme.
