Indore Master Plan Roads: Post-Construction Digging To Invite Music | Representative Image

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): While reviewing the progress of 23 Master Plan roads, municipal commissioner Shivam Verma has warned of fixing accountability for any post-construction digging.

In a meeting chaired by Verma and attended by senior officials, including additional commissioners Rohit Sisonia, Abhay Rajangaonkar, superintending engineer DR Lodhi and representatives from consulting agencies.

The commissioner issued a firm directive that all necessary utility work such as sewerage, stormwater drainage and water distribution must be completed before road construction begins. He warned that if any department digs up a newly constructed road, the cost of damages will be recovered from the responsible official or agency.

If sewerage work leads to road damage, the sewerage department will bear the cost. If water pipeline work is responsible, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department will be charged. If stormwater drainage or any other infrastructure causes road damage, the Planning Branch and consultant agency will face financial recovery.

He further instructed that road construction teams must visit sites with the official drawings and ensure all provisions are in place. If any facility is missing after construction, strict action will be taken against the responsible officials and consultant agencies.
