According to a local media outlet UNB report, Syed Anisur Rahman, officer -in -charge of Silhat Airport Police Station, confirmed that a fierce mob of students and common people attacked Nadel’s house. Property was damaged in this attack.
According to eyewitnesses, members of about 70 to 80 bike riding student organization reached Nadel’s residence in Housing Estate area of Silhat city on Wednesday. He entered the house and damaged CCTV cameras, laptops and other equipment.
Anwarujman Chaudhary’s house was also attacked
On the same day, the house of former Mayor Anwarujman Chaudhary was also attacked in Patilala area of Silhat. In -charge of Jalalabad police station, Harunur Rashid said that the police took action on receiving the information. According to him, the attack was carried out by angry students and locals. The attackers damaged furniture and household goods.
Theft of valuables and abuses from caretaker
According to local reports, the attackers not only damaged the house, but also stole precious items. At that time there was no family member of Anwarujaman at the house. Only two caretaker were present, with whom he was allegedly abused.
Increasing graph of political instability and violence
The incidents of political violence and instability in Bangladesh have increased continuously since Sheikh Hasina’s withdrawal from power. Currently, the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus is failing to control these incidents.
According to a report by The Dhaka Tribune, the bodies of at least 20 leaders of the Awami League and their family members were recovered in August 2024. In the last few months, Awami League leaders and activists have faced several serious attacks and mob violence.
