According to the latest reports, radical elements are trying to control Bangladesh’s army.

According to sources, a coup is being planned under the leadership of Lt Gen Mohammad Faiz-ur-Rehman in the Bangladesh Army.

  • Faiz-ur-Rehman currently holds the post of Quarter Master General and his image is that of a leader with a staunch Islamic ideology.
  • He is plotting against the current Army Chief General Waqar-e-Z-Jaman.

Role of ISI and interference in army

Pakistani intelligence agency is considered a major role in this entire conspiracy of ISI.

  • Recently, his meeting was led by Faiz-ur-Rahman during the ISI chief’s visit to Bangladesh.
  • According to reports, ISI is trying to end the pro -India influence in the Bangladesh Army.
  • Efforts are also being made to include some officials of DGFI (Bangladesh’s intelligence agency) in this conspiracy.

General Waqar-e-Zaman: Supporters of relations with India

The current Army Chief General Waqar-e-Z-Jama is considered a supporter of peace and cooperation with India.
