Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A massive crackdown on drug suppliers and peddlers, followed by the recovery of drugs worth Rs 3.19 crore in Azad Nagar and Tejaji Nagar area, earned the team of DCP (zone-1) Vinod Kumar Meena praise from DGP Kailash Makwana on Wednesday.  Lauded for their effort, five of DCP Meena’s team got cash prizes as well, while the then Azad Nagar ACP Karandeep Singh received a citation. 

In connection with a blind murder case, five other police personnel from the Aerodrome police station, which also comes under CSP Meena, have also been rewarded with cash prizes.

According to the citation given by DGP Makwana, the special team formed by DCP Meena for effective action against criminals smuggling drugs registered four cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Tejaji Nagar and Azad Nagar police stations between February 15 and March 24.

It arrested 12 drug smugglers with MD (Mephedrone Drug) worth about Rs. 3.19 crore, ganja, and two-wheelers. “The leadership ability displayed by the officer in the above case is a testament to your professional efficiency. I appreciate your commendable work and hope that you will continue to do an excellent job in future as well,” the DGP’s citation said.

In these cases, large-scale narco drug dealers and smugglers from Dewas, Mandsaur, Agar Malwa and Pratapgarh, Jhalawar, and other districts of Rajasthan were arrested by tracking those involved in the purchase/sale and transportation of illegal drugs.

Those on DCP Meena’s team who earned a Rs 10,000 cash reward are Head Constables Nitish Athod, Pradeep Patel, Raju Baghel, Sanjay Malakar, and Constable Arun Ghuraiya from Azad Nagar police station. 

Cops awarded for cracking blind murder

Constables Sanjay Dangi, Raju Rawat, Vishal Dabade, Amit Khatri, and Govardhan Baghel, posted at the Aerodrome police station, were given a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each for their good investigation and the arrest of the accused in a blind murder. Commissioner of Police Santosh Kumar Singh also appreciated them.
