Mumbai-In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to Nagpur in Maharashtra yesterday, the police have made strict security arrangements to stop any untoward incident. Apart from this, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has provided CCTV cameras on each route of the Prime Minister.
Municipal corporation officials have repaired 300 close circuit television cameras on programs and routes during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Nagpur. Although this security will remain in Prime Minister Modi’s routes and places, the security cover will also be extended to the rest of the city, where almost all CCTV cameras are still not working. When the rioters attacked the police during the furious riots on 17 March, the cameras in Madhya Nagpur remained closed. Investigation units were in trouble due to this flaw. The police now depends mainly on CCTV cameras installed at private places and videos recorded by citizens.
The city police will also deploy anti -drone system in the area where Modi’s activities are proposed. Security mock drill was organized under the supervision of senior officials.
On Friday, senior officials met some political groups who created a ruckus during Modi’s visit. Central and state intelligence agencies are working round the clock to collect information about planning or showing black flags secretly by other organizations.
Sources also said that the investigation of 13 riot cases has been slow at the moment, and police officers have been included in Modi’s security system. Many senior officials of various units have reached Nagpur with the entire team of commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG) and the special security group, equipped with advanced automated weapons and communication systems.
Apart from security, medical aid teams have also been kept ready. Around 2000 constables of the city police, including the traffic branch, have been selected for ‘settlement’ deployment. A large number of police personnel have been kept in the reserve.
The main security levels include SPG and NSG commandos. Apart from the safety of the police of the city, the anti -security and barbarity investigation is also underway by various bomb testing and disposal squads (BDDS).
