Police Officer Learning To Drive Hits And Drags Pedestrian, Crashes Into Biryani Shop In Vaishali. | X
Vaishali, January 13: In a shocking incident, a police vehicle from the Hathsar Ganj OP Police Station in Bihar’s Vaishali hit a pedestrian walking on the road. The accident occurred when the sub-inspector was reportedly learning to drive at night. The horrific incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media.
It can be seen in the video that the speeding car which went out of control hit the man who was trying to cross the road and dragged him for some distance. Shockingly, the sub-inspector did not slow down the vehicle after the accident. The car hit a shop on the other side of the road and stopped after which the man was rescued.
The incident occurred on Sunday (January 12) night as the vehicle eventually lost control and crashed into a Biryani shop on the opposite side of the road. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed outside a nearby house and the video has gone viral on social media.
It can be seen in the video that the police personnel are getting out of the car in panic after it hit the Biryani shop. They tried to escape after abandoning the vehicle, however, the people present at the spot tried apprehending them and initiated a protest against the accused police officer.
The angry locals surrounded the vehicle and took away its keys. Seeing the growing crowd, the sub-inspector fled the scene, leaving the constable in the car.
The injured man was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment by local residents. They also expressed their anger against the police for the negligence. The CCTV footage clearly shows the young man being dragged under the vehicle and the car crashing into the shop.
This incident has sparked protests by locals, who are demanding accountability for the reckless behavior of the police.
There are no reports of any police action in connection with the matter. The pedestrian has reportedly suffered injuries into the accident.
