Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police were clueless about the killers of doctor Sunil Sahu even after 24 hours of the incident. The doctor was at his clinic when three men came there and one of them opened fire using a pistol. Movement of a car was also found near the spot so it was believed that the killers had reached there in a car and had parked the car some distance from the clinic in the Kundan Nagar area. Senior officers have constituted four teams to identify and to arrest the killer.

Police believed that the shooters were professional as they first asked the doctor for their treatment of cold and cough. After a few minutes, the accused wearing masks came again at the clinic and one of them shot Sahu, who received a bullet in his chest. Dr Sahu’s attender Deepak Chouhan was at the clinic at the time of the incident. The police are gathering information from Deepak as well.

Team sent to Guna

Additional DCP Aalok Kumar Sharma informed Free Press that a team has been sent to Guna after some clues about the suspects. Preliminary investigation revealed that Sahu hails from Guna and he was staying in the city for two years. He got married to Sonali in April 2023. On the suspicion of his rivalry with someone in Guna, the police team was sent there.

Another team has been examining the CCTVs of the area while the third team is of cyber experts that is checking call details of Sunil’s mobile phone. The fourth team is assigned for the investigation at the spot. Sahu’s family members were unaware about his rivalry with anyone. The family members have taken the body to Guna for last rites.

Before the incident, Sahu had received a call from an unidentified number and the caller had told him that he would come to the clinic for treatment of some ailment. The caller had also informed Sahu that he had visited a few days ago for treatment and the results were good. Sources claimed that when the police verified, it was found that the mobile phone belonged to a labourer.

He informed the police that some unidentified youth had stopped him and asked for his phone on the pretext of making an urgent phone call. The police team also checked the CCTVs of the area where unidentified persons had taken the mobile phone of the labourer.
