The Gangapur police and Manuski Social Group have helped rehabilitate a 30-year-old mentally challenged woman from Telangana in the Manuski Vrudha Sevalaya asylum home in Jatwada. The police are now searching for her family members or relatives.

The Gangapur police patrolling team found the woman making noise on the road in Gangapur city. Unable to communicate with her due to a language barrier, the police brought in a Telugu-speaking person who learned her name was Hakila, and her husband’s name was Nagraj. She mentioned she was from Bayaram, Mehboobnagar, Warangal, Telangana. The police are now attempting to trace her family.

PI Kumarsingh Rathod directed the Damini squad officials, including Aarti Jadhav, to take the woman to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.

As there was no immediate place to accommodate her, Rathod contacted Sumit Pandit, director of Sulakshmi Sevabhavi Sanstha, requesting assistance for Hakila’s rehabilitation. Pandit and his team, along with police officials, then took her to the asylum home on Jatwada Road, where she was provided shelter until her family is located.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional SP Annapurna Singh, PI Kumarsingh Rathod, and other officials, including V L Pakhre, P B Shejul, Dhondiramsingh Rajput, Sumit Pandit, Puja Pandit, and others.
