Mumbai: Police in Bandra have registered an FIR against an unidentified motorist for allegedly driving into the supervisor at the toll plaza on Bandra-Worli Sea Link, dragging him for almost 200 metres, and fleeing the scene.
About The Incident
The incident took place on Monday, when the driver (licence plate MH 02 GH 0896) was heading towards Worli. The supervisor tried to stop the vehicle as the driver did not pay the toll, but the driver hit him and fled. The victim, Sunil Kumar Kaptansingh, 26, was taken to Bhabha Hospital, Bandra (West) in an ambulance.
After preliminary treatment, he was transported to Sion Hospital. The police registered the case under sections 125, 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The police are reviewing CCTV footage and trying to trace the accused.
