Police Bust Mobile Snatching Gang In Bhopal, Recover 25 Phones Gang Operated To Fund Their Expensive Hobbies | Representative Image

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Govindpura police on Monday busted a mobile snatching gang as they arrested two members and recovered 25 high-end smart phones worth around Rs 8 lakh.

Deputy police commissioner Sanjay Agarwal stated that the duo was planning a robbery near BHEL railway track when police, acting on a tip-off, arrested them. The accused Sohail Khan (21) resident of Durga Nagar and Nadeem Khan (19) resident of Qazi Camp, confessed to committing snatching and theft incidents across the city.

A Pulsar motorcycle involved in the crimes was also confiscated. During interrogation, both of them stated that their gang was operating to pay for their expensive hobbies.

DCP Agrawal said other two gang members, Siraj and Ahad Khan, were currently missing and efforts were on to apprehend them. The stolen phones were reportedly sold to a man at Irani Dera on the Bhopal railway station’s platform number 6 area via Siraj’s contacts. Police are currently looking for this buyer.

Apart from this in a separate action, Govindpura police acting on a tip-off arrested Mohammad Yusuf (20) from Shukrawara Market area on Sunday night. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from him. He has been remanded to judicial custody.
