Mumbai: Sangharsh Mhaske, a 24-year-old accused, escaped from JJ Hospital while under police custody on Friday. The Pant Nagar Police had registered a case against Mhaske under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. He was arrested by the Pant Nagar Police in Jalgaon and was brought to JJ Hospital on Friday for a mandatory medical examination. Between 3-4 PM, he fled from the emergency ward.

A case has been registered at the JJ Marg Police Station, and a search operation has been launched to apprehend him.

According to the police, Mhaske was brought to the Mumbai civic hospital by the Pant Nagar Police. An FIR has been filed against the absconding accused at the JJ Marg Police Station.

The police have circulated his photograph to all police stations and are conducting search operations at railway stations, bus depots, and other potential locations. As of now, Mhaske remains untraced, a police officer confirmed.
