This ‘Badnaam Branch’ located in the famous Brady House Building in Fort area of Mumbai has now turned into a beautiful cafe, where people are enjoying sitting with organic coffee.
Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi took a loan of thousands of crores using the letter of undertaking (LOU) and the Foreign Letter of Credit (FLC) with the help of bank officials in this branch. This historical fraud not only shaken the banking sector but also created a stir across the country. Now this place has been given a fully new look and has been given the form of a popular cafe.
PNB has removed this branch from Brady House and shifted to PNB House on PM Road. The vacant space was later rented to run a private cafe. Now people here are seen taking tea-coffee sips with business meetings, gossip and stories. This place is now becoming quite popular among people.
Significantly, the main accused in the PNB scam, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are facing legal action after absconding. Recently Mehul Choksi was arrested in Belgium and efforts are on for the extradition of both.
