Pune: PMRDA To Build 10 Missing Links To Ease Traffic; Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge Proposes 2 More | File Image
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has planned to build 10 missing links to ease traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. A budget of ₹857 crore has been allocated for this project, and a proposal to acquire land at the respective places has been submitted to the district collector for approval.
A list of these planned missing links has been shared by Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge on X (formerly Twitter). The missing links are as follows:
Shirur:
1) Sanaswadi to National Highway Pimple Jagtap Road
2) Talegaon Dhabade – Pimpri Jagtap to Karandi Phata Road
Khed:
1) Talegaon-Chakan Highway, Hingane Chowk to Chakan Industrial Estate Kharabwadi Road.
2) Mauje Nanekarwadi to State Highway Samruddhi CNG Pump Connecting Road.
3) Mauje Medankarwadi Bungalow Vasti to National Highway Rase Phata Road.
4) Western Bypass: Pune-Nashik Highway-Chakan MIDC Phase-5, and Talegaon MIDC to Old Mumbai-Pune Highway Connecting Road.
Maval:
1) Alternative Road Connecting the Skywalk Project from the Mumbai-Pune Highway.
2) Dehu-Yelwadi Road.
Mulshi:
1) Road Passing Through Mhalunge Village from Near Balewadi Stadium.
2) Surya Hospital (Pune-Bengaluru National Highway No. 48) to Sakhare Vasti Hinjawadi Phase-1 Road.

Meanwhile, Landge has further urged the PMRDA to consider two more missing links. In a letter to PMRDA CEO Yogesh Mhase, the BJP MLA wrote, “1) Mukai Chowk, Kiwale (PCMC) – Sangavade – Chandkhed (10 km): This link will connect the Outer Ring Road (Chandkhed) and the Inner Ring Road (Sangavade) to the western part of Pimpri-Chinchwad and further extend to Spine Road. Additionally, PCMC has recently approved the Mamurdi-Sangavade bridge over the Pavana River, which can be considered part of this link.”
“Chikhali (PCMC) – Moi – Nighoje – Kharabwadi (9 km): Connecting Nighoje to Kharabwadi and Moi to Chikhali will provide seamless connectivity to Pimpri-Chinchwad. Furthermore, the Indrayani River bridge connecting Chikhali and Moi should be widened to six lanes, ensuring smooth connectivity between the Outer and Inner Ring Roads and the Talegaon-Chakan highway to the northern parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad,” he added.
