New Delhi PMAY: The central government is running many schemes for the people. In this, the government is giving benefits to the people under the PM Awas Yojana to build houses. At present, people coming under the weaker income group whose annual income is Rs 6 lakh, these people can also take advantage of the PM Awas Yojana. Let us tell you that the central government has increased the criteria from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh for economically weaker sections seeking affordable housing in partnership under the PM Alas Scheme (PMAY) for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis this Wednesday said that on the request of the Maharashtra government, PM Modi and Union Minister Hardeep Singh to increase the EWS income criteria from 3 lakh to 6 lakh for AHP vertical under PMAY for Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) Thank you Puri ji.

He also said that this would help lakhs of citizens of MMR. A few months back, Fadnavis had said that the urban coverage of PMAY was unacceptably low and that he would take up the issue with the central government.

What is PM Awas Yojana?

PM Awas Yojana has been started in 2015. PM Awas Yojana is a scheme of the Government of India. Whose goal is to provide houses to every poor at low cost. The scheme aims to construct about 20 million houses at an affordable cost by 31 March 2022. PM Awas Yojana villages have been extended till the year 2024. The total target of pucca houses has also been revised to 2.95 crore houses.

Explain that under this, the beneficiary should not have a pucca house. Which means that there should not be a house in his or any other family members name in the entire country. Any adult, whether married or not, can be considered a separate family entirely.

Category of Beneficiaries under PMAY Scheme

People whose annual income is between 6 lakh to 12 lakh.

People in the middle income group whose income is between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.

Low income group whose annual income is between Rs.3 lakh to Rs.6 lakh.

Economically Weaker Sections whose income is up to Rs.3 lakh.
